We respectfully disagree with this notion. Generic medicines are completely safe and effective, as they contain the same active ingredients as branded drugs. In fact, many doctors support and prescribe them.
The Medical Council of India (MCI) issued a circular on July 21, 2017, stating that every physician should prescribe drugs using their generic names, preferably in capital letters, to ensure rational and accessible medication for all.
Additionally, the Government of India’s Jan Aushadhi Kendra initiative has significantly increased awareness about the benefits of generic medicines. As a result, more people are requesting them from pharmacists, recognizing their affordability and effectiveness.
